Fur

There are 5 fur types and 4 things fur is judged on. . The type the rabbit has depends on the breed.
There are 4 common words you will hear when a judge described the fur...

Density- how thick or thin is the fur spacing?
Finish- it is matte? shiny? really shiny? - Unsalted sunflower seeds can help fur become shiny!
Length- how long is the fur? Rex fur vs Angora fur.
Texture- this is a variety of characteristics including but not limit to, diameter of the strand, how the strand tapers off, if it's smooth or course,

Flyback
This one is easy to tell! If you brush the fur from the rump to the head, the fur immediately flies back into place. This is the most common type of fur. Unhealthy fur may go slower.

Rollback
If it's not flyback, it's rollback! If you brush the fur from the rump to the head, it kind of just hands out and stand up and fluffy for awhile before it slowly just goes back into place.

Rex
This fur is only on Rex and Mini Rex rabbits. It's super short and soft which makes it really fun to touch. The fur stands upwards instead of laying against the body.

Satin
Only found on Satin and Mini Satin. This fur is fine, dense, and you guessed it, shiny! The fur is kind of like a rollback style that it will fall back into place when backward stroked.

Wool
This is the long fur on all the long haired breeds. You can, actually, gather the wool and use it for projects like sweaters and kniting. It is VERY fine and soft. It must be brushed often to avoid mats/knots.
